Dude blog catalog has got a legit PR7 (not bought) and it has an Alexa ranking of 1,600, different ball game. 250K is a joke.

It is overpriced indeed. The revenue is around $5k-$6k monthly...the new owner (if any) will have to wait 4-5 years to recover his investition.
I doubt he will sell for that much. Even the starting price seems to be high.

The starting price is the Max BIN price ($100,000).

I think only a handful of buyers will actually make offers and I would guess the majority of the BIN offers being in the $50,000-$75,000 range, with a max BIN between $90,000-$110,000, depending on the end user.

I'd safely bet on an offer in the $35,000-$75,000 to take the cake.

It's just way to much money to put on a site with a future that is literally unknown with all the fuss going on with Google, paid links, and keyword issues.

i dont know but many here believe that a site which is not owned by a dp owner is unknown. I mean this site is a PR 7 with PR 6 inner.... it is one of the top dawg site standing next to Alive and Aviva, but ofcourse people doesn't know because the owner is not active here at DP. Well DP is not the end of the web u know. This guy doesn't post at dp because he is working hard to hold the quality of his directory (I guess). Doing a pretty good job too.

I think the owner of excellentguide.com is in drought about Google's move and that could be a reason for the sale.

If some one buy and if Google go crazy and de-index the site.

The new owner will be in big trouble.

So, I think at the current weather conditions buying a hi-price directory is simply stupid.

There are lots of people that hate, google but still Google is the god of www.
