Hi all, I've just found that one of the best directory out there is for sale: http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace/auction/12789 What do you think about the price?
I have 2CO on one of my directories, completely different level of course and new but ive never yet received a payment through 2CO, virtually all is paypal.
I found this for sale on sunday night. Seems a bit steep as the minimum bid is well over a years revenue. I wonder how effective adding 2CO is in generating added income.
Having payment options gives an alternative, for some it will work, and not for others, but well worth the set-up to give it a try (imho)
Absolutely i agree, its important having the options there just incase someone wants to use that very one. I have Paypal, E-gold, Moneybookers, Alertpay and 2CO, ive checked out many many others but wouldn't touch most of them with a barge pole, i keep my eyes open though for any other companies. Theres also Nochex and PPPay but they cater more for UK market i think.
If i had 250k to invest in business i would put it into an offline business, you want a foot in each world, one in the virtual online world and one in the bricks and mortar world. If one goes bad you have the other.
I agree and certainly. While Clint Eastwood made a successful movie " Escape from Alcatraz" at the moment its not advisable to make a part II.
$250k does appear overpriced and it would seem unlikely it will sell at this level, if they make a sale I would guess it would be in the $50k-$100k level.
I hope so too and wish them the best. But just like in Hollywood there are big budget movies you call a FLOP after showtime.
Will be a son of a gun to bid for that amount... Personally i believe that the price is way to high A similar (PR) directory (blogcatalog.com)went for 40K and that seemed a fair price Anyways hope the seller get a nice deal on this one
His revenue might have been that much, but I am pretty sure it is a thing of the past. I doubt he makes 50% of what he used to after all that happened with web directories. It is way overpriced, if you ask me.
Not sure I agree with this. In light of everything that has been happening index-it.net continues to get submissions both in bulk and regular. I think when you have good advertising in play you can pretty much stay ahead of the game and things will keep working out for you. I think the price is a little high as well, but this guy has put alot into this directory over the last year so anything over $50k is well deserved imo.
Way overpriced I'm afraid. I would expect his max offers in the $90,000-$110,000 range, if any. (that's being optimistic) The max you can get these days for directories is between 10-12 months revenue, regardless. Especially with the uncertainty of the future. As with many things, the more people sell directories, the more the prices will drop. People are simply abusing the industry and it's hard to get buyers to invest now.
