Okay guys I ran into this tip the other day and though I would share this with you, this is especially useful for newbies – the old dawgs might know about this. Scenario: 1. You want to go after a specific market but don’t know if it’s profitable or a lame duck. 2. You see a popular site and want to get a feel for how much traffic they are getting and whether they are making any money off of it. Many sites out there are using many PPC publishers. This specific little trick works for people running adbrite. For this example I’m going to use “Recipes†as my niche I am interested in entering or researching. Through the search engines, I find a site call recipezaar.com and notice that they are running adbrite ads. At the bottom of the adbrite ads I see “Your Ad Here†most people never click on that but if you do … you can find all sorts of valuable information. Here’s the link for recipezaar.com : http://www.adbrite.com/mb/commerce/purchase_form.php?opid=20181&afsid=1 You can see all sorts of goodies and what kind of traffic and revenues they are running. This is the stats I’m getting for recipezaar.com: Pageviews per day : Over 440,000 Unique users per day : Over 95,000 Avg total clicks per month: 1,441 Avg CPC per month: $1.85 Alexa rank : 2,735 Repurchase rate : 50.00% AdBrite since : November, 2004 Origin of traffic : No Data Avg cost per click (eCPC) : $1.85 DEMOGRAPHICS Female: 87% Male: 13% Age: 18-24 13% 25-34 20% 35-49 23% 50-64 26% 65+ 9% With some simple math you can get all sort of additional info. Now there is a very quick way to research all the sites running adbrite in your niche or market you are pursuing. You can go to http://www.adbrite.com/ and type what ever keyword you want to research their marketplace, you’ll get the sites that are running adbrite and their statistics. Just thought I’d share this tidbit, Hope its useful for some of you! Frank
Yikes. Am I reading that right? 2.8 million + uniques per month and only getting 1,441 clicks per month? Is the ad invisiable or something?
GFC ... they've got it buried in the bottom left. They have all sort of ads providers running there. Probably have the more profitable ones in the hot zones! Nice traffic though!
One more thing ... if you're paranoid and don't want your competitors or others thinking about entering your market, or seeing some specific information about your site ... hehehe ... you may what to watch yourself if planning to use adbrite!
No problem Chachacallis ... the more I play with it the more info I'm getting. Have totally decided to not enter certain markets because of this.
