In Excel, I have hundreds of URLs in the following format:

    http://www.test.com/file.htm, 1, 03/08/2006 at 11:04 AM

I want to remove everything to the right of the comma (including the comma, so that only the URL is there)

How can I do this in Excel? Thanks.

Take it the whole line is in one cell otherwise you wouldn't be having that problem.
Select all of you text copy it into notepad and then paste it into a new excel sheet, you'll get the paste icon coming up after you've pasted it, click on it and select "text import wizard" - once you in that select "delimited" - hit next and on the following screen select "comma" as a delimiter. Now when you load it you'll see your urls are in a seperate cell to the rest of your text, simply select all of the cells with rubbish you don't want and delete them. Voila.
