Exceed CPU Quota in Wordpress

My friend has this problem with his Wordpress blog. When many visitors visit his blog at the same time, the exceed-cpu-quota error will pops up instead of the blog?

What is the reason and how can it be solved?

Ask him to move to a VPS or dedicated...seems he has high traffic.

 

He is not having high traffic, he is just receiving a lot of traffic in a particular time.

 

What are is his server specs? Please give us more information. Isn't he using the wp-cache plugin? If not, tell him to get it.

I've had the problem so many times with different wordpress sites now..

And I've tried everything to solve the problem and no fix yet.

A few things you can try.
Update to newest version.
Use wp cache
Disable google sitemaps generator.
Disable trackback
Disable ping

Or don't use wordpress.....

 

Chances are, you may need to upgrade your account to prevent this issue from occurring even further.
