I think nobody will share their Joomla based website here, as Joomla have a tons of security problems.

If you are new to Joomla, you have to know:

    1. Use as less as possible extensions
    2. Always read Joomla security newsletter
    3. Host it on Cpanel not on Plesk
    4. Be sure that SEF URLs will not brake your site
    5. Check your pages in IE or Mozilla - there is a crazy problem in Joomla and sometimes pages are not Showing in IE
    6. Always make a good structure - Proper Sections, Categories and articles

There are may more things, but security of your web is most important.

Just for the future, every CMS has security issues. There are security extensions for most CMS's to make your CMS more secure.

you will find that its actually the third party joomla extensions that are the main cause of the security problems not necessarily the main joomla script itself

as a hard core joomla/php & mysql developer i would say overall joomla is pretty solid, its the components the you install you have to be careful with...

this is an example of one of our most recent projects: www.cowboysdancehall.com

we certainly pushed joomla's capabilities but we where far from reaching its limitations...

I started Seychelles Islands recently, which isn't exactly mind-blowing in its complexity, but I have plans to make it bigger sometime in the future.

P.S. ukescuba, your cowboy site is uber cool.

and don't forget to use SSL if you handle money transactions. I feel really bad to see many freelance websites, handling money matters and have no SSL : (

Oh yeah, they look like huge companies. The idiots who made those haven't even bothered making their own template, just using the default one, and the first one even uses to default Joomla fav icon.
