Example of good web design?

would like some input on whether or not this would this be considered a good color scheme and layout?

Great layout, good niche(for amazon), but unless your customer specifically requires it, I do black backgrounds with scary, photography, adult, and 'dark content', but it may work for you. Overall, good job, and remember at the end of the day, the critic that really counts is you.

I don't think this colour/layout looks very good, what type of site are you looking to create?

 

Umm, yeah seems very dark to me.

 

use websafe colors.

 

Layout has good structure, navigation is easy and so on...

I'd use white background on text and perhaps blue body background to give it aquarium-like feeling ;-)

...and change the font!
