Hi Guys I have been reading this forum a lot for the past few months and I'm eager to get started with clickbank. The think that is getting in the way the most is the concept of landing pages. I'm quite a lazy person so dedicded that I'll be using PPC rather than article marketing. Just wondering what on earth the user should see when they reach my landing page. Can you show me some examples of your landing pages and what worked well for you? Mike
It depends . . . Are you trying to capture email addresses, or just send people along to the merchant's site?
just google a product name and take a look at the affiliate ads down the side and try and learn from them. Do it again a few days later and then if they're still there then they are probably making a profit. Thats wat im doing
If you are a lazy person, why bother with a landing page. Use the direct linking method with Clickbank.
mikey, i'm a lazy person too. Great thread, I'm looking to hear some voice too. and acemenace, I think PPC doesn't allow more than 2 person to link directly to the same URL. is that right?
HA-HA-HA-HA Well you could have checked that closely. He is not that lazy as he already has 8000+ posts which requires some doing.
I didn't make it up. He said it. And I was not trying to be sarcastic, but rather giving him an idea, since that is what I do. Direct link from Clickbank.
The Adwords Pros can correct me if I am wrong, but I think your ad just wont show up for the same url is your bid is lower than the other guy with the same display url.
That truth about dogfood page is reportedly supposed to be a bang-up successful job. don't know from experience, but that's what i've heard. it's one of those "ugly sells" type of pages
So the more ugly/scammier/unprofessional these landing pages are, the better they seem to convert? large red text, a few images etc?
Here is the correction: the ad that will show is the ad that gives Google the most money. For example: I bid $1 for the term "dog" with the URL dogstuff.com. My CTR is 1%, so that means Google gets $1 for every 100 impressions. You also want to bid on the keyword "dog" for the same URL. However, your CTR for this keyword is 2%. That means you can pay just a cent more than half what I pay and still show. That means you need to pay only $0.51. Then Google will make $1.02 per 100 impressions. More for them - your ad shows. That's why the CTR is so important. nadavs
I thought landing pages were essential? Is it actually possible to make good sales/profit with direct linking?
A good landing page will almost always convert better than direct linking. However, a poor landing page may not convert as well.
Mikey, It's possible to make money without a landing page, but all the times I've tried I just barely broke even; however, when I have a landing page which captures emails and follow up with the product my conversions go WAY up.
mikey1090 There is an easy way how to build a simple and effective landing page. Go to Blogger and create a blog. Then get a domain name for the product you want to promote, and change your blogs address to the domain you've just bought. (Look in Blogger's settings, you will find out how) After you got your domain as your blog's address, create a review of the product you are promoting. Add some pictures, relevant header. If you make few posts, that's better, than just one. Try it. You only need about $10 for a domain, the rest doesn't require any investing.

I like Eban Pagan's landing page at http://doubleyourdating.com its a very simple squeeze page but the layout is very effective at converting.
