Ex Webmaster Getting Back in the Game

Hi!

I have been out of the webmaster world for quite some time now I had a UK domain called thedesktopshop which was pulling me in about £500 a month (about $1000) but due to part lazyness and part my domain lost in the interweb my dmoain was bought out by some random company who turned it into a crummy landing page

As you can imagine my bank balance took quite a hit after that lil income stream ws gone so i am joining up here and getting back into the wonderful world of webmasters (Or the WWW as I like to call it)

So who am I?

Well first things first my we income was not my main one, I hold down a low rate office job in the historic city of York in England. I do a fair amount of part time writing for sales copy on websites, and in my spare time I play football and tennis. Im 23 years old but hold over 8 years experience of website creation. Im learning to play guitar (Slowly) and enjoy gigging, drinking pool and darts.

Im hoping to bring some of my experience to the forum, I have picked up a trick or two in my time and like helping people on in the world, i live on the principal that people you help are more likely to help you when you need it!

I will also offer my services as

Freelance Writer (High Quality English)
Link Exchanger (PR 0-5, like for like)
& Link Sales

(I have just ressurected my blog which is now page rank 3 (Predicted 5) And I am taking offers on 6 spots at the footer of the main page, payable monthy on a paypal subscription. I have used a few tricks on the site and google has my blog has a high priority for crawling, so should index you pretty sharpish.)

I will also consider links to other (Personal blogs) on my sidebar, again any offers & maybe link exchanges with pr4+ will be considered.

Ontop of that I am experimenting (Currently unsuccessfully ) with click bank and amazon associates landing pages, I think I have quite a bit of work to go before I get this into shape!

Yeah I do have quite a bit of background knowledge and would be happy to share, its more to do with organic SEO than Adwords though, and it has been giving me trouble!

I found that lonely planet guide books was a bit of an uncompetitive area for some long tail keywords, so set up an amazon associates a-store page (Cant post URLs yet)

I updated it with a script to send US visitors to US page and UK to the UK, but I seem to have caught myself in a downward spiral. Since my area is very niche my keywords have become lower quality (Mostly ok with a few poors) from that my quality score went down so my CTR went down, lowering my score even more.

In the longer term I want to build a website around the store, but for now It will have to wait, it is kinda difficult to embed this script into a website! On the plus side it has made my A-store search enginge crawlable though

Is there anyway i can rectify this or would I have to start from scratch???

Hey, had a bit of a lull but I have done some real work this month on a site I started in January. I started logging stats mid march and its not hard to see that it is taking off pretty quickly, looks like i still got it!
