Yeah, marketing ploy or not, it is sure nice to see. Perception is everything as far as 'beauty' goes. People groups that are isolated from TV land have a totally different perception of beauty than we do. If our culture can begin to think 'outside the box' about what it means to be beautiful then more women/girls can begin to think 'outside the box' about themselves as well. Our culture would benefit if we began to associate beauty with character traits rather than some barbie doll cutout; the beautiful person is unselfish, the one that seems happy, the kind one.
We have to wonder why they are using this method at all, though. How distorted they must think we prefer our ladies to do all that work, which as you point out makes it look quite artificial. But haven't people been doing that for years? Do you think the renaissance women were as lovely as their portraits? I would love to know.
Fully agree with Obelia. Prior to Photoshop, there was an amazing makeup and hair styling. Photoshop was used only to “improve†details. Photoshop is really an impressive instrument, play with it and you will see that everything you saw in the video can be done easily. It is much harder to do such makeup
