I got a disturbing email today from the affiliate manager of my main program. She claims I broke some rules, and is now trying to delete my commissions to date, which is totalling over $1000!!! What do I do?? I sent her an email back trying to get her to change her mind.. Is there anyone at CJ I can contact?? This is my livelihood shes trying to steal.. Thanks for any advice.
What policy did you violate? If you violate any policies for an affiliate program, they are allowed to reverse your commissions.... the policies are in place for a reason. If your livelihood relies on breaking the rules, things won't work out for much longer. If you broke the rules, you can't really complain. If you followed the rules though, they shouldn't remove the commissions. Nobody is trying to steal from you, though.
Did you provide an incentive to your users to complete one of their offers? Most sites like CJ do not like incentive traffic, such as giving your user's rewards for their actions, which will end up in a reversal. We're one of the few networks that welcome incentive traffic.
"Internal coupons are not allowed without permission from Bodybuilding.com. We also don't allow any affiliate promotions in the Bodybuilding.com Forums or on BodySpace." Shes complaining that I promoted my website on the forums. In reality, I would post links to my site that had a supplement review, which would obviously contain affiliate links. I didn't realize this would be a problem. Under this same logic, no one should be able to post any links with even a single affiliate banner on the page... And the worst part is, I have been watching my Google Analytics carefully, and only a very small portion of the forum traffic even converts!!! How can she reverse all my commissions when maybe only at maximum 10% of it comes from this forum promotion. Do you guys know any direct email addresses for people at CJ?? I would love to see what they think as I beleive they are getting screwed out of money by this as well. Once again, any help or suggestions is appreciated.
You have "(Click here for my 10% Off Coupon Code for the BodyBuilding.com Store)" on all of your review pages. I think that is the rule violation she is referring to.
I just can't figure out what wrongs with supplying the coupon codes though..A quick search for "bodybuilding.com coupon" reveals 100's of sites promoting the coupon codes with links to the bodybuilding.com store. I can't see what I'm doing differently thats so wrong...
Not to add insult to injury, but be prepared to receive another email (in your CJ mailbox) stating that the advertiser decided to terminite your affiliation with them. I hope it won't happen, but it can. To contact CJ just use their contact page.
I read your other thread, it appears that you don't have a domain, didn't use the links exactly as provided, and you just supplied your links to your friends so they could click on them. IF I read your other thread incorrectly, I apologize, but If I read it correctly, then you pretty much failed to follow every requirement in the term of service. CJ cannot help you, the decision lies with the advertiser. The affiliate manager is not evil for requiring you to follow the rules that were clearly posted and apply to all of us.
Maybe you have me mixed up with another poster on here, but that was definitely not me. Looks like my account manager was just upset that I was using some forums to promote my affiliate pages. She only took $100 away from me, and left me with $800. I was quite happy about how it worked out.
