EveryTime I need to check Remember Me???

Hello,

I am facing problem with login on forum that every time I need to check Remember Me Checkbox while making login.

If I have not checked it then It will ask me to login again & again..sometimes immediately after successful login, sometimes after 10 secs etc....

Is this a Bug?

Please suggest...

The system signs you out automatically after a few minutes of inactivity. The system doesn't know when you're typing, so if you are composing a lengthy post it can sign you out midflow - very annoying. Check the remember me box before signing in and it won't sign you out automatically. Furthermore, if your browser is set to accept cookies (and you don't clear them) you should sign in automatically each time you visit DP.

Is it automatically sign me out after just 5-10 seconds without any activity, I think Session timeout is minimum 20 mins or so??

Cookies are working fine.

OK, I've just started a thread few minutes ago, suggesting that Remember me button should be checked by default.

 

Yes I am checking it everytime as I need to check it. If I haven't it, I am not able to logged in. If I get the success in login then it will automatically logged out within 4-5 Seconds (Not Minute)... So I m not able to open a single page

 

Nah - unnecessary considering the minimal effort it takes to check the box.

 

Your cookies are clearing and the issue is on your computer. Manually clear them, then check your settings to ensure they are staying active.

I signed up months ago and singed on that one time...I've never had an issue, but then I likely have millions of cookies sitting my cache someplace.

 

You call 3 lost seconds every day to check that box a minimal effort? It's annoying! Aren't computers to save some time?

Well, it can be done in about 0,45 seconds, using Tab key on keyboard and pressing enter. It's about 3 seconds if I switch to mouse button after typing my login. Many forums have Remember me On by default.

 

Honestly, there is nothing else. In every instance of me hearing of this issue it has been the result of something wrong on the users end, and generally dealing with cookies. If DP was broken it would be happening to many (many) others here.

While logged in, try to completely log out. That has solved the issue for some... failing that, slowly go through and check all your computer settings again, and make sure that you have manually cleared your cookies to the site (and I don't mean just clicking the 'delete cookies' button). Clear your cache (just in case), reboot, and try again...
