I've been reading about authority sites where people believe that their website has a special classification because it shows up in Google search results with a double listing like this for example from another thread http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=belbazaar People, everyones website can do this if you bother to set up your content correctly, you will find that at least for one search term related to your content that you will be positioned in the above way if you have content that has a series of second level links as well which also relate to that content. I've got about 50 sites that can prove this. There is no such classification for 'authority site' You'll often find that the double listing as above is usually for a search term that isn't so highly competitive as say: car insurance
I know what thread you are reffering to....I just can't find it to link to it at the moment. That's not what he meant when he was talking about authority site....his site was listed like the pepsi site here....http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1B3GGGL_enUS220US220&q=pepsi&btnG=Search, the first result....you just can't see it because you are using the main google site and he was using his local google.
yeah exactly what ranter said, u just can't see it coz the guy was from the netherlands, and u're using the main .com search. he wasn't referring to having the #1 + 2 spots. and yes, there is classification for "authority sites"...you're on one right now: http://www.google.com/search?q=digi...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a (see the cool listing underneath DP)
