Yes it's true. If you have filed income tax for 2007 you will get the money automatically. It is a carbon tax credit rebate. However, if you or someone in your family have not filed income tax for 2007, such as your dependants/kids, you need to apply for them. This is true if you live in British Columbia, Canada. The provincial government put in a carbon tax on July 1st which raised gas prices by 2 cents. In return, every resident got $100 at the end of June.
