I have heard that this update is regarding low quality contents.. But I have one question, i hope you can answer it. Google have setted robots to track such sites with low quality contents right? But how can a robot detect that site is with low quality contents?
Nobody knows for sure how it will effect websites. Anything anyone can say will be a hearsay. Unless Matt Cutts chooses to elaborate on what the update truly encompasses, I wouldn't pay much attention to what others may have to say on this subject. This is what I found on http://searchengineland.com/google-begins-rolling-panda-4-0-now-192043 regarding this (again, it may or may not be factual): 1. Panda 4.0 algorithm is designed to prevent sites with poor quality content from working their way into Google's top search results. 2. This update will be gentler for some sites, and lay the groundwork for future changes in that direction. 3. Panda 4.0 affects different languages to different degrees. In English for example, the impact is ~7.5% of queries that are affected to a degree that a regular user might notice. Other than these 3 points nothing is really certain as of now.
I suppose it depends upon what you define as low quality content. Spam is for sure but then it's open for debate after that.
I would think it's really difficult for a bot to detect low quality content, at least at the moment. They must be taking lots of factors into account like bounce rate and not just checking for the uniqueness of an article.
Nobody noticed or pointed out that I caught that announcement 45 sec. after it was posted on Twitter. The achievement I will cherish forever.
They released a guide to what they consider low quality content, I'll try to find it and link to it shortly
As far as I know Panda is updated regular and content should be a priority for everybody and when I am talking about content I am not talking about "Yada Yada - that's my story".. but content able to attract interest even by influencers. So let's forget the 500 words articles and update and I guess that we will pass each and every Panda Algorithm.
Another way for Google to control the world lol. And the Internet. Just keep focusing on doing things the right way and ethically.
These updates take you to the new direction if you follow them, I got improved results in search results for my website after this update because I have changed my content's approach.
It's just more of the same thing. Avoid duplicate content. They say that you also have to avoid over optimizing keywords these days.
If you have done a decent job then there is nothing to be afraid of. Lets see what the near future brings .
And if you didn't do a decent job, hold onto your pants and make sure you're wearing an adult diaper.
