Hi all, As some of you may know I have a product published out there, but that's not the issue, it's that a potential customer contacted me and said this: "I've had a look at your product and am very impressed, and willing to buy, but wanted to know if you would accept payment through PayPal? I'm just a bit concerned, as we do not use clickbank here in the UK and I'd like to pay through somebody I know. Hope to hear from you soon" Does this say that we could ALL be getting more sales, if CB's payment processor presented itself safer to customers? Are we losing sales? I am not attacking CB's payment processor, but just pointing something out that I find interesting. I'd like everyone's thoughts on this and maybe how this could be fixed.
I think clcikbank does have a bit of a bad reputation, but I tihnk other positives outweigh this and this is why I stay with them - namely their affiliate network and ease of allowing affiliates access to programs, and also their customer service, ease of setup, and order management integration for buyers - saves a lot of admin time imo But you are right... I mean they do take paypal, but it doesn't really jump out at you on the order page... the worst thing for me though is that you have to fill in your postcode on the CREDIT CARD DETAILS side before you can even press the Paypal button... I think this is a bit misleading and I am sure this loses sales, and I don't see why they can't just put another postcode box in the paypal payment section at least if they really need it for tax purposes or whatever.
I can't see anything as good as Clickbank. They have everything you need. A bit of tracking problems shouldn't discourage you. And those payment problems, I don't think there's any big issue there. They do have their anti fraud mechanisms that some people don't like. But overall, there's nothing as good as clickbank. A little bit of problems are always there with anything that is too good and this is true about Clickbank too.
so sad to hear this... I am promoting your product since last november... So far the ppc profit is 100%
So true, there are some problems with clickbank, and if you change to shareasale or CJ or something else then you might resolve your problems, but you will only find others - possibly worse, nothing is perfect, and clickbank are improving all the time imo, and having personal experience of using Shareasale and CJ I can tell you there are definitely major problems there too. If you only use clickbank and just browse this forum it is easy to think it is full of problems, but imo it has A LOT going positive for it
The only reason why these potential customers have a bad opinion of Clickbank is because they have probably read one of the thousands of posts on scam sites out there about how they purchased a product on clickbank and it turned out to be shit but what these people don't realise is that it isnt Clickbank who made the Product. Nearly all dont understand that Clickbank is merely the Payment Processor for these products.
Then go somewhere else - what is the point of this post? It might as well just say that CB is stealing your money or something like that. Or their tracking or this or that. New questions, do you like red of blue better?
No, I merely just pointed out something to everyone here that I found quite interesting. I love CB and they do have a great payment processor and I will use them for all my products, it's just that some people don't like to purchase through CB's payment processor because they don't trust it or may have heard it has a bad reputation, and that can affect sales. CB doesn't steal money, and if they did they wouldn't be here today. And to answer your question, I prefer blue
But I bet you can say the same thing about every payment processor on the internet, they will all have someone who is "concerned" about the payment processor so why worry about it?
Yes, using CB or any other Similar payment processor does mean that some people will NOT buy when they are redirected to the checkout page. The ideal scenario is to have your own checkout page, customized as you wish (and blend it to your site style) and linked to your bank account. However, this can be costy(at least if you dont do it yourself), to hire a programmer, design the page yourself, open bank accounts, ssl certificates etc. But, obviously you wownt have the thousands of affiliates like clickbank does if you do it yourself, which is a great plus, even if CB checkout page can be "less effective" Bottom end, thers a reason why bid publishers still stick with CB and dont use something else.
Clickbank offers payment through paypal as well so I do not know what the problem is. However they do have a bad reputation amongst newbies who buy the products, realize they actually have to do work and end up returning them and complaining about click bank on scam websites.
