... is a moment you do not spend creating content or building links. I thought about this while updating How do I fnd the PR (Page Rank) for my site?, which has grown completely out of control. However, I suppose the same is also true of checking your SERPS and your hits/pages/visitors.
And then after trying and trying again to optimise for 'mattress' you find this site: http://www.geocities.com/mattress00/ near the top Speaking of relevancy!
His nickname is matress, so its totally relavent. Get a link from him, it probably wouldnt be too hard.
Good call Will but its nice to see that your numbers in the digital point tracker are green each day, makes you think the hard work is worthwhile
In my case, I learn a lot from looking at my stats. I wrote most of my content before I had ever heard of SEO. I finally installed a decent stats program and found all sorts of searches for "mobile home doors". I looked at my doors page which turned out to be an embarassing three sentences long (not one of my better pages So that page went to the top of the pile for improving. I had tried searches for ways to make some $ from my site. All I found were marketing wizzard sites; the ones that are about 15 pages long, with testamonials in the right column, and all kinds of promises of wealth if you will only take advantage of their money back offer. Then I saw a posting somewhere that lead me to websitepublisher. A posting there led me here. There is a lot of "noise", but every so often I run across a "pearl" that makes the time well spent. But, I will admit, it's real easy to put off writing more pages
I agree 100% that the time spent DOES lead to pearls. I have started a new thread - i'd like to see a good list of "pearls" (c'mon now, no ruthless self-promotions) and that way, maybe we can stop wading through the bad stuff.
