OK, Look every Industry is queueing up for Billions $$ Bailout from US Govt. First it was the Big Banks and they got few hundred billion$$. Now it seems there is not much accountability and those billions are being spent like it is the bank's money- eg. Hundreds of millions paid as so called "retention fee" to AIG staff Next the Big 3 carmakers flew down in their jets (but later in their hybrid cars) and begged and begged before they were given $15 to $20 Billions- All that could be throwing good money after bad since even the top car company Toyota also made big loss which is a sign that the car industry will take some time to recover from slump in consumer demand. Now the latest is that the housing/ real estate companies will also be asking for Bailout. So what the heck ! Every industry is asking for Bailout so why aren't the Web/ Internet industry (at least hundred million of us) asking for bailout also? Most of us are experiencing drop in revenues from Adsense , affiliate programs as result of these big economic downturn... In next few months, the Web/ Internet industry will be big employer/ paymaster by giving work to those retrenched workers from banks, auto, real estate industries when these workers move online to try to earn some money. So we need Gov't support. The Big 3 car makers got about $15 Billion bailout to protect 3 million jobs so that is about $5000 per person There are about 100 million websites http://www.boutell.com/newfaq/misc/sizeofweb.html -Assuming about 4 websites owned by same person that is 25 million so US Govt should give Bailout of $125 Billion to the Web/ Internet industry. With the $125 Billion we will buy over Google (about 80 Billion market value) and run it as a cooperative by the industry
Bailout happens only when the industry goes sick..... And even if a giant like google went bankrupt, who will provide a bailout to a web industry since it does not belong to a particular nation !!! It is truly a multi-national community.... Regards, RightMan
