I was wondering how big google really is, and how they can handle so many searches. Then I found this.

    Here is another one

Now we know how they can handle so many search querys, while still indexing sites, and managing advertisements through adsense and adwords.

Wow, I knew they were big, but that much...? Is that just for the search engine or plus for the additional services such as Gmail, iGoogle, Blogger etc...?

That's an amazing amount of servers.. It would be cool to know how many they were doing as a startup.. before corporate funding.

if you search, they are looking into custom building a server, the size of a building to replace all 450,000 servers.

That'll be dangerous...isn't it wise to spread the whole thing, instead of keeping it at one place?
