Ever heard of searchelevators.com?

They called me after seeing my ad in superpages.com (I seem to get alot of advertising "sales" calls since I joined them) It seems none of them know it is now a PPC engine, too. Anyways, they had me put in a search term "which I chose" and viola! I'm on the first natural result on google! amazing! They said it would also appear on the first result of yahoo and MSN, too. For only $600 I would get 10k clicks to my site from the search engines.. Wow! I said, that's only 6 cents a click (the keyword phrase I chose is getting $3-$4 per click in the SPONSORED results, not the NATURAL results! I was amazed and confused until I figured it out. They have a link on their site to "upgrade" your IE for free. I did it on my second machine, and then I searched for "poker" on both machines using google. Different results! Aparently they install some kind of re-direct on the Major SE's so that they can manipulate the results. they claim to have 10's of thousands of "partners" in their group. My question is this: at 6 cents a click, for the top paying keywords, who cares if the people who find you are the victims of spyware? (I guess that's what you would call it, I doubt most know this is happening) So what are your thouhghts on this type of advertising? I sell a line of weight-loss products on the internet, and I'm looking for ways to get more sales.

    Thanks, RonMo

I can hardly figure out what your post is about, you need to learn to use the enter key to separate lines.

But that "company" isn't even indexed at Google, more than enough to ignore them.

Was my post hard to understand? I think what I'll do is contact the advertisers that are getting the top positions and ask them if it is worth it. I'll post the results.

The question you should be asking is - is it a good idea to trust someone who is installing spyware?

That's true, about trusting someone who installs spyware. That's why I want to contact some of their clients, to find out if it works. Easy enough to check.

The problem with an elevator is that is has a weight capacity. Go beyond that weight capacity, and you'll end up from the penthouse to the basement in about 10 seconds and squashed like a bug. Consider Spyware as being awefully heavy. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

In other words, let us know if can work for us! :p

Don't bother - I'm sure this site controls some of those spots and will return a glowing report.

Spend your money and time elsewhere

Went there did that 2 years ago with a different company... They shown me big players ads too but "for privacy reason" they didn't let me talk to them - I'm sure they used these names and ads without permissions.

As I didn't want to spend the required minimum $1,000, they offerred me a $100 trial (1,000 guaranteed visitors)... got the visitors in one day... and?

Was one of the best waste of $100 I ever did.

If you really want to blow $600 I can send you my paypal ID - I need more back links:D

I got a call last week from a company with
a name like "positionsguru" dot com. They
get you #1 in google by having people download
    their browser-enhancement software. Then
when the customer types in your key word
they stick your link on top of what looks like
    genuine google results.

I asked them "what incentive to people have
to download your software." His answer was
remarkable "if you offer a browser enhancer
    people just download it."

I asked "does it do anything else but distort the
    google results?"
    "NO"

You wonder why these guys can't figure out a legitimate
    way to make a living.

As far as I am concerned, if it
    doesn't rhyme it isn't a poem.:)

But to me small columns are
easier to read on a screen.

ok, you guys are right, I won't let them sucker me. Since then I got 2 more calls from 2 other companies that do the same exact thing, even the reports look exacty the same. Either it's the same company with 3 different names, or they use the same exact software to create the "optimized" pages and the reports.

    Thanks for the good advice!

    Hi,

I'm another victim, in fact, I found this forum at Google when I was looking for information on them. They called me in July, too, but I only had to pay $500. I refused to pay by CC on the phone, so they sent me a Paypal link. I thought they were going to show my site as a kind of sponsored listing.
I was on vacation for the whole month of August, and although I had a weird feeling about not getting any more traffic than usual, I did not have time to deal with it. This is where I committed the second mistake. If I had realized what was happening sooner, I could have claimed my money back through Paypal.
I sent them some emails because they did not send me my login to check my stats for a month. After a week of no-reply, I called them. They promised me to send me the login immediately. Another week. Another phone call, and finally I got my login, which was not working because the password had a wrong character. After a couple of days I finally could get access to my stats, and I saw that my traffic only started on September 23rd. Since then I've received 140 visits, out of them came 1 lead, and no sales yet.

I'd suggest everyone to stay away from them.
