When the top bid for Mortgages is less than $.20 you know something is wrong.

I'm just starting a $25 test-campaign with them, hoping to get more than that from AdSense. I should have some results to share after a week or so.

2 days into it I'm getting way more targeted search clicks from MIVA than from adwords at half price. I must say it's a very competitive ad market on adwords (therefore high-paying clicks in adsense). Short story:

    11 miva clicks @ $0.05 each = $0.55
    1 adwords click @ $0.10 = $0.10

    3 clicks @ adsense = $1.05 income

    Do the maths yourselves... ;)

It's about conversions, not visitor numbers ;)

Well, I just wanted to show that advertising on MIVA can be useful. It is in my case, but I'm not actually selling anything.

Oh, did I mention they called me on my mobile to confirm the funds upload? :) And I live in Romania! I think that's pretty cool...

Espotting as it was once known used to be a steady payer for me. However the maximum bids seem to have come right down nowadays so commissions are low. If anyones read the rich jerk ebook he recommends using Miva as a low cost way to get PPC and listed on other engines.

I use espotting feeds still as a directory on a few of my sites

Like one of the previous posters posters said Miva and Mirago can be profitable when using them in combination with Overture and Adsense. Buy cheap clicks on M&M and convert them into expensive Adsense and Overture clicks. The internet is riddled with pages that do this.

However, if you are an advertiser don't let this scare you off. Adwords and Adsense are international and therefore open to more widespread fraud. Proportionally the two Ms aren't that bad when it comes to click fraud. Their greatest drawback is that they are very low volume. It took me more than 2 months to blow £500 on Mirago on poker terms, including 'poker'. They are really only an option if you have fully exploited what Google and Overture have to offer.

One last thing, take a look at the big sites that they list as partners before deciding whether your products/services will do well on it. From my experience Mirago=gambling, Miva=retail.

    It is daddies elasticated pants!

because of their willingness to just give away partnerships for affiliates and as some people say content block or direct xml content feeds etc you just end up with a whole pile of scummy ppc result sites that only serve miva results ala espotting.

Conversion rates are less than awful and i am sure they are reading this, would not be the first time a miva member of staff has signed up to a forum to offer good press either so you have to watch that too.

At this point, Miva is still not a good option for most people.

I used miva and google ad words at the same time. I received more clicks from miva, although no sales, than from google, also with no sales. Miva is much cheaper.

I have not found a good PPC that works for my web site. I sell photography equipment. Maybe since there is so much more competition out there.

I spend much money on PPC from Google, Yahoo, MIVA...not a good return for my site. Probably the wrong keywords.

If anyone has any suggestions on what to try, I am listening....

I've heard that MIVA UK is pretty good, but the rest of it is a joke, as stated above...lots and lots and lots of click fraud. I've heard of people getting only 100 hits to their websites from MIVA traffic, but according to MIVA, they get charged for somethink like 3,000 clicks. Now, THAT is click fraud, if you ask me...

We created a site dedicated to exposing advertising networks and PPC search engines for what they are. Check out the MIVA section: http://www.advertisingopinions.com/t/101/

Hopefully you will find this useful.

Yes, MIVA is well know in the UK and is a big company. I've never personally used them, but I doubt theres any problems regarding payments.

    Hey bsp,

You may want to take a look at Allfeeds.com - their CPC is pretty low compared with other PPC engines, and they may provide a good match for your keywords. I've had good results with their programs as an affiliate publisher. :)

Don't spend your money with Miva. IMO they are cheaters.

Even it is not worth to spend bandwidth for "traffic" from miva. ;)
