I got an email today inviting me to Miva PPC program, anyone heard of it? Here is the link she provided http://www.miva.com/us/content/advertiser/pay_per_click.asp
MIVA deals with some lower tier networks that google won't accept and they have a reputation of a high percentage of click fraud among advertisers. I've heard (although no personal experience) that the pay is quite a bit lower than adsense.
Hey guys, Ive been looking for a really good, powerful tool to help aid me in my campaign management projects. I would really appreciate it if anyone could give me some input of anything they have used that they think may be ideal for managing many pay per click campaigns. Case of beer?
Hi, flights-to-canada.co.uk is one of the site I came across which is running miva ads. As far as my knowledge is concerned, CPC is lesser for MIVA compared to Overture and adwords, and is a good one for advertisers. For publishers point of view, you get feeds which can be embedded into the pages unlike google adsense which is javascript. Google crawls the feeds and takes it part of the actual page.. So MIVA can be treated as the one which gives your page some content as well.
Its one of the local search engines for UK, Offers effective ppc campain and can be very effective because you can bid on more relevent keywords at a much lower price because for mive there is not much competation yet, atleast not YET!!
Miva is also available in other european countries. They just show adverts, as in the content links on Google, as far as I know their partner sites are chosen by people, rather than machines, crawling sites.
Miva sucks... It converts really badly in my experience and has problems keeping up with large volume campaigns. Pay Per Call is worth a look for some industries (like finance) though.
Same thing as Pay Per Click, except you pay for the call... :/ View the attachment from a DogPile Search on Home Insurance
I agree with mjewel and all those who said Miva is not good enough. Even I use it from time to time and they provide some results I can say that Miva sends a lot of invalid clicks and some times you receive nothing for the money you pay.
First off, Miva was formerly FindWhat.com the 2nd biggest PPC before Google came into the picture. They were profitable before, now they are not. I have personal experiences with Miva and I have to say don't wast your money or your time. I always made a few sales but it wasn't profitable. Why? Because they pay publishers a percentage of the bid to get traffic. So these publishers basically, "cheat" using bots to make money. The sad thing is the execs at Miva know about this and basically won't or are not able to stop it. They have some nice partners including InfoSpace and Search.com but on those your ads will hardly show up for competitve terms. Meaning it is a decoy to show you that all the real click-throughs will be coming from the "Cheating" partners. I only received <5% total clicks from Infospace and Search.com when I ran my Miva Campaign.
I have been using Miva for years - it used to be called Espotting in the UK and has been going longer than Overture or Google Adwords. It is VERY cheap and uses only partner sites. I get very high click rates at very low costs. I seriously suspect a very high degree of click fraud but overall its profitable so I have learned to live with it. Sometimes we see spikes and when asked to investigate these they usually do and often make a refund. It is one of the platforms commonly used to drive traffic to those sites that carry nothing but Adsense/Overture Ads - i.e. send a visitor to a page for $0.05 in the hope that they will then click a higher paying Google or Overture ad. As I said overall its profitable but the margins are low and unless you can keep an eye on it I wouldn't bother. In addition managing accounts is a nightmare as they set up a new campaign for almost every singke keyword so you end up with thousands all of which have to be checked.
I've used Miva for about a month now... it really sucks. I get tons of clicks on my affiliate ads, but not a single sale. These are SOLID affiliate ads that bring a huge conversion from clicks from Google... I even did some checking, Miva said I had 86 clicks on one of my direct links, but I only show 22... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
