Yesterday I come across phishing.I got a mail that claimed as from Paypal and they make me to enter my CC and other details. I was confused of the mail since I was in a way of my paypal document verification. Did anyone of you come across a situation like this ?
Yah I get those all the time, I used to have people massage me on aol claiming to need my credit card info.
A good rule of thumb is never respond to anything in your email box like that. I got one today proporting to be from a bank wanting to verify my account info. The problem is that it is not my bank. I just reported it as fraud. Had it been from a bank I use, I would have gone directly to bank site had I wanted anything done.
I've seen a lot of these sites. But I'm not fond of different kinds of sign ups so I usually just ignores them.
I have done it ! And they reply me back. But since my paypal is not active I only want to disable by CC. Now onwards I am only using virtual CC in internet. Its safe.
All the damn time. Including but not limited to: Wells Fargo, Paypal, Ebay, Myspace, Flickr, 5th 3rd Bank (or some damn thing), and probably about 17 other things I can't think of ATM. The only thing that leaves a worse taste in my mouth than spammers/phishers of the world: my own stomach bile. IT BURNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I fell for it when I was a newb on the net. I got an ebay message, and i logged in, but they flagged my account shortly after. Now I get them and i laugh, sometimes ill enter a few fake log ins so they try it, to waste their time
LOL, I just got a phishing email from PyPal. Seems like the scammers who are to lazy to work were too lazy to learn to spell and type as well.
I get a lot of phishing emails from paypal my bulk folder. I no longer pay any attention to them. But I did click on the link once before.
More than 50% of all the phishing scams floating about the internet relate to PayPal/eBay. An astonishing fact. Checkout the PayPal security center for more info. It's a genuine link lol!
haha. I get probably a dozen of these a day. I've never encountered one that was good enough to fool me. I do know one guy who had his yahoo account phished. Some sexy girl sending a link to an "adult profile" on yahoo. It prompted him to log in, and poof, his account was highjacked. From there, his hosting account, e-currency accounts, and everything else that had ever emailed him a password were all gone. It took him weeks to recover it all.
