Even BIG Sites Steal Your Work: How Iwebtool steals from Directory Kit

    Hey all,

Today I was checking Iwebtool in order to check out my sites' stats and so on. Then on the main page, I have noticed a banner, that advertisers Iwebtool new service. I thought it would be impressive and useful as their other services. However I was quite disappointed to see yet another useless directory list.

So then I scrolled down and saw the section, "Tips on Directories". I was waiting with anticipation to read it and discover something new. However, I was even more disappointed in Iwebtool, when I saw that it stole my own articles, which were originally posted on Directory Kit.

I have posted the thread in this section because the problem involves directory related services and thus I think would be interesting the most for directory owners. Mods, if you think that this is incorrect section for such post, please move it.

Want to see what articles it has published on its site, without asking my permission? Well, I think it's pretty easy to guess what articles it has stolen - the most popular once.

I don't even realize what is the point of coping the last article, with no links to the actual seo tools?

I have noticed that Iwebtool has indicated the source of the articles. However, I still consider them as stolen because:
    • They did not ask my permission
    • They did not provide actual link to my site. I think that people are lazy to copy the given url into their browser and go to the source. However, they will visit the site if a link is given to it.

Btw, Here is another stealer of Directory Kit's popular articles.

I hope that Iwebtool, will realize now that although they are popular they still need to ask for author's permission before publishing any work. And I also hope that they will apologize and suggest various forms of partnerships with Directory Kit. (Such as one on Directory Rate)

    Wow.

They actually put your URL as the source at the bottom, although not a live link. I would be pretty mad...perhaps contact them as they never asked for permission to use your stuff:(

    I would be mad too...

Even if iWebtool is an authority site they shouldn't act like this...actually they could order a 500 words article for about $5 ... how stupid! ... and they didn't made the link live :) is that expensive a live link in their shitty resource?

    Jesus Christ, shame on them!

Usually when you copy you'll have to ask or permission from the creator and obviously place a live link to the source

At least a live link would have been very appropriate for your work. But I agree that posting without permission it looks bad on their part.

    What about duplicate content?

Filre a DMCA notice with their host and have access to the content disabled.

Copying an entire article without permission is not considered fair use, regardless if they credit the source or not.

What sort of deal do you have with directory rate?

I agree that it is unethical to take somebodies work without first getting permission, and without some sort of retribution. I'm truly sorry.

I hope you get satisfaction, Slashpix. It seems to me that I'm always chasing up one moron or another for copying my stuff, so I know how you feel.

I hope it is a just a mistake on iwebtool's side as I really like everything else they offer. Hopefully they will clean this up quickly and give credit where credit is due.

Thats not good, seveneth is right, they seem to have removed them, I assume you contacted them and they took them down, shame they didnt keep them and just give you a link, would have been better.
