Even ads on non-published pages count

Just a kind of PSA, in case you were curious:

I am redesigning my site, and put AdSense code on one of the pages on my computer to test the blending and colors. I refreshed several times as I experimented with the code.

I didn't put this anywhere on the web, it's only on my home computer in a folder. But AdSense is showing my page impressions on the ad! (I put channel info in it.)

I guess it doesn't really matter, but it's interesting.

You can get yourself in trouble if there are CPM advertisers targetting your website. Use a test-pub when you are modifying your site offline to be on the safer side.

Good to know about no published pages. How is anyone suppose to test out layouts and colors without fear of having your account banned?
