Eve Online Guides

I know WoW is the biggest MMORPG in the world right now but I think that Eve Online is being overlooked by product creators.

There is only one Eve Online Guide on clickbank yet there are tons of WoW guides. The truth is that Eve Online is growing very fast and has a lot of $$$ for any people who can write decent guides for it.

I personally do not play Eve Online myself or I would consider writing a guide myself for clickbank.

I just want to know if anyone is working on Eve Guides for clickbank and what fellow DPers think of this idea.

If you are making a Eve Guide or have one give me a pm and I will help promote it for you.

Im an eve player, but havent gotten around to writing a guide yet.

I was shocked to see that there was only one guide on Clickbank though. Currently working on adding it to my site.

    www.homelessgamers.com

I have been trying a few different sources for revenue since my adsense account was locked. Clickbank looks good.

Back on topic, Im also interested in helping promo an eve guide, so feel free to pm me, or contact me at my site.

There's enough guides for enough games that it would be possible to create a serious "authority" site with them all in. The site would have informational content on all the big games (Wow, Eve, etc), and promote all the best guides for each game. Throw in a blog with industry news and a forum with the occasional contest, some SEO and you've got yourself a winner.

Aren't most players in Eve Online from ex-USSR? If so one major problem would be them not having plastic cards or paypal to pay for the guide...

There are some ex-ussr folks, but its not the majority. Most of EvE's population is US and EU.

    Hi Morrow,

Yes this is what I thought and I have done something similar, like you say.

The guides that I have are:

    http://www.ageofconanfastleveling.com/

    and...

    http://www.ultimateaocgold.com/

and while the niche is not as big as WOW they convert well with less competetion.

I can see how this would work for an EVE guide as well.

    Chris

I have mentioned this before but the EVE userbase, despite growing, is too small.

    300,000 active subscribers.

    Assume 1% buy your book.

That's 3,000 sales to split out over all your affiliates.

Too limited IMO and nowhere near the market for WoW.

If you want to still write a product, make one for complete noobs, how to level up asap. The info on the forum in this regard is way too fragmented and no decent advice in one place.

I'd consider testing it myself, even though I don't think there's much mileage in it, but I'm about to lose my broadband internet so can't play EVE anymore :(

I have sites for most online game guides and WoW is given too much attention. Any RPG's that I played online no longer exist like RF online for example. I would create my own guides but I do not have time to play MMO's anymore.

Chris I have seen your AoC guides before and never did get around to working with them. I will have some spare time this week so I can start promoting them for you.

Basically I just want to know whats in the pipe line with other mmo's besides WoW. I think product creators need to seriously look into games like Eve Online, Lotro, AoC etc since there is a lot of untapped potential

Joomla would do it just fine, snag a template, grab phbb3 forums, get the jfusion plug in to bridge the two, and use the built in banner system with joomla, and download the extension banner slider.

    Rather easy to setup honestly.

Pretty much what I just did, except I used Vbulletin instead of phbb3
