Ok, so last year me and my flatmate (Keith Taylor on DP for anyone who wants to throw a lil business his way) went on a spontaneous road trip around Europe in a £350 BMW off ebay. We had such a good time that we decided to repeat it this year, although this time the Ebay BMW is costing £409. Initially our plan was to head up to Amsterdam, across to Berlin down through Munich and skirt the south of France before finishing off in Barcelona and then heading back to England via La Rochelle. However several weeks ago Britain was hit by a mini heat wave. For that reason the plan has now changed to sun sea and sex, sprinkled with a lot of booze and hence, talking about sex while being too inhebriiated to actually get any of it. Initially the plan is to go south via La Rochelle, hit the western France/Spain Border by the sea and head down to Barcalona, skirt the southern French Coast and head upto Munich before cutting diagonally back to England. But I was just wondering if anyone new any secret hidden places, great food dishes for a country or anything that is just so purely amazing that we should go and see it?
If you are going to Barcelona make a stop in Girona to drink some ratafia. Girona is about 2 hours north of Barcelona and right off the autopista. Girona is also a great place to eat pernil.
Haha, we nearly went to Gerona last time! I'm a big fan of chocolate, have a real sweet tooth on me sometimes! I nearly went to a friends BBQ in Oostende (Also in Belgium) but i had a hectic week Its a bit out of our way on this trip though! Moscow is somewhere I really want to visit but at the same time am slightly apprehensive about. I wouldnt mind visiting some of their nightclubs though
How much does a trip like this cost me and my friends were considering something similar , as far as routes! Thats too much planning for us!
im not sure if you smoke, but if you do make a stop in luxemburg, the smokes are half as expensive as in the UK
Haha will mention it to keith, he has a slight addiction to the cancer sticks! I was in Monaco and Nice last year, lovely cities! Monaco was fairly traffic heavy though, took a long time to get through it! Cost wise we spent about £800 each in two weeks, but we did travel around 4,500 miles. You could easily get by on a lot less than this, but there ya go! Unfortunately I do get the feeling the current strength of the euro is going to hit us for six this year
