The EU could decide the future of computing for all of us.

They are going to decide if Gmail violates Europe's very strict privacy laws.

They will also decide if M$ will operate in Europe the same way they do in the states.

Why? Are we all moving to Europe or something?

Also, privacy issues are really not computing. Any rulings on privacy really has no effect on "computing".

I would say that Email has a lot to do with computer users activity, is search computing? Email is used more than search functions. What you are saying is that Email is a communication tool and not computing, right? Servers and clients are used to deliver email.

Europe when they rule, if they limit what M$ can include in their operating systems could open up big opportunities for M$ competition, thus changing computing through new software offerings.
