Apparently it was a man from Ukraine.

Anyway back to the football.. Anyone watch Czech Rep Vs Holland, the Czech's look classs! Oh and England, need to sort out the defense, well dodgy on them free kicks and corners!

I feel more comfortable with King in the defence rather than Terry, personally IMO Terry is over rated.

Oh and heard about Leeds recent signing, Danny Cademateri (excuse the spelling) signed from Bradford City... this time 2 years ago we were buying the likes of Ferdinand, Viduka etc.. Where did it all go wrong :(

Yes too bad Leeds messed it all up.

Big match tonight, Holland is desperate for the Czecks to beat Germany (but they are resting all their players) and win against Latvia. I fear Holland will join the likes of Spain, Italy and the other failures. :(

I hope Holland get beat. Not that I'm bitter about them putting Scotland out.

What do you reckon about the Sweden Denmark fixed match? was it fixed?

I didn't watch all of it but 2-2 is just too hard to write a script for. It only takes one person to be against fixing it and it becomes impossible I believe.

I agree with tops30, it is nearly impossible to setup a 2-2 unless all are onboard. I believe more likely a case of let down knowing you have a lead when all you need is a tie to let this happen. IMHO.

    I know.

If it had been 0-0 they could have argued that they both played a defensive game.

Czech could be the dark horses to win

Well, we (Holland) were up 2-0 and tested them pretty thoroughly IMO.

It was only a stupid back pass and a dreadful substititude which brought us down... So you can't say from that match they are that brilliant. Just good at capitalizing on someone else's mistakes. The Czecks lack in midfield if you ask me.

True but then they won't have the pressure of expectation on them and they will be able to relax more than other teams.

Plus they have Baros (Liverpool player ;) )

    Dodgy!

Debateable though but harsh IMO. Terry was just looking at the ball and not trying to obstruct the keeper. Campbell fouled Terry yet that is no reason to give the opponents a free kick!

Ref was dodgy against Holland again as well.

Might be time for video assisted refereeing....

I don't know about video assisted. I've seen several "american football" games slow to an absolute crawl visiting the replay and still leave the call the same as on the field. Referees are part of the game (IMO) and their interaction in "real life" is similar to that of the players. Yes, it can have a large impact but so too can that of the players.

I agree that it is quite questionable giving the free kick but, the statements of the site I referenced seem to reinforce their reluctance to override the call on the field. IMHO. :D
