Still the same problems with England as nothings really changed since Eriksson left. McLaren is just going to play the same kind of bland uninteresting football we've been used to.

Playing the Croats away won't be easy unless we start to find the back of the net, which we are not doing at all.

I am sure the Croats would have wanted Graham Poll to officiate in this one;)

I don't think we will see a continuation of Eriksson's crap track record. It's just that a lot of them aren't fit/in form yet (which is a lame excuse anyway). I'm sure they'll start walking over opponents the way we hope soon.

We still have a great defense and a midfield to match. Look at all the clean sheets. Scoring goals is the problem. Andrew will be back soon, he's shit hot and on fire. Crouch will probably whack a few in again soon. If Roo gets back on track we have a pretty potent side. If they all stick to their instructions (some of them are quite thick IMO) they'll be just fine.

Exactly, if thats the case then drop them and play someone who is in form. It's the same old story, sticking with the favourites with no competition for places. I can't remember the last time Lampard had a good game for England, and Rooney hasn't scored a competitive England goal for over two years, yet they seem to be automatic choices.

He dropped lazy-boy Becks though, a decision which I had long been shouting for.

I don't think Lamps ahs been particularly bad either but yeah, stick Parker in there to stirr things up a bit. He seems a bit more energetic and obviously has something to prove.

Yeah, that was a long needed decision. I think a major problem at the moment is that it seems 9 ot of 11 of the starting places are settled even before the squad is announced. There's no real motivation for players in terms of losing their places. It would be good to mix things up a bit and bring some fresh faces in to challenge as he's done with Lennon, it just needs to be on a much bigger scale and needs to challenge a few of the older faces.

I'd love to see players like King, Parker, Johnson, Defoe and Wright Phillips getting involved a lot more.

McClaren probably made the easiest decision when he dropped becks, the tough decision will be when he will be dropping lampard, coz i just can't see him and gerrard playing together. They have got a lot of matches together and cant seem to get it right.

Unless ofcourse if england play 3-5-2 which i don't see happening, and 4-5-1 with a holding midfielder (Hargreaves).

With 4-4-2, you can't play lampard and gerrard in the centre, it's pretty clear!

I wish they would, I think that formation would suit the players and team well. Atticking football to make the use of the strenght of the midfield and 3 good centre backs.

With Terry-Rio-(carragher/brown/king) at the back and hargreaves in front of them would not be too bad.

Lampard anyways needs a babysitter with him if he has to play well, someone to do the Makelele job for England..

Yes Chelsea did go down after Gullit resigned. And in 1999 Arsenal merged with Tottenham and in a joint venture called "London Whales" (named Yank-style after the baby whale who swam up the Thames that winter) they built the 100 thousand seater mega stadium called "North End Palace" (remember the Queen concert?) slap bang between White Heart Lane and Highbury. The rest is history (won Champions League the very next season).

Wow... I just surfed by BBC website, and saw the news. It sure is contrast between two teams of different world rankings.
