I've just launched the website, www.euridsucks.eu (heh) and would appreciate any feedback. It's not supposed to be particularly pretty, just give an overview of the .EU domain debacle.
1. you can decrease the font size 2. Can leave the side space blank and brign the content in the middle
I'm enjoying reading your site. Taubman Sucks is definitely not pretty but it's a great read, too. The focus is on the content and message you want to get across. Good work, mate.
Thanks. I've got more to add but I wanted to get something up and running with the basics in place before I got bogged down with details. Henny, I've no idea why the domain should be showing with a gray bar, however, if you go to the European domain registry, Eurid.eu, it too, shows a gray bar, so I can only surmise it is related to the .eu extension itself.
Well, I'm uncertain of the value in it. Especially after all that has happened. .com is well-recognised and applies to any country. Maybe .eu will be a lot like .us and .biz (especially after what happened) ... that is, it seems most spam mail I get directs to .biz or .us shites... er, sites. Sure, these TLDs are sometimes used by legitimate companies and individuals. And every other TLD has its spam issues, too. But .us and .biz spam is what I predominantly see in my inbox. If people are just going to sit on domains and try to make a profit ... well, same old BS but a different extension. Recently, I looked to buy a domain name regarding a topic I didn't think would be too popular. But I found a lot of domains were just sat on and for about the past 7 years in some cases, too. Some were trying to "rent" the domain, others just wanting to sell at stupid prices. Bleh. In the end, I found a good domain that wasn't taken and purchased the .com and .co.uk. It's a sad waste of domain names when people don't do something useful with them. Now these people just have a whole load more to do nothing with. Great. Wankers. There's nothing wrong with trying to make so money, but it should be done with hardwork and productivity. Well, that's my £0.02.
Eurid's customer service sucks, or maybe I should have been clearer? I asked CS about whois privacy (I haven't noticed this yet with .eu, but then I didn't register a .eu domain) as I didn't want to show my home address. I guess I should have written postal address because the 'home' bit was lost on whoever replied and they appeared fixated on 'email' address.
