    "Pre-Registration Period - Public"

Whats up with that? I just regged some .eu's at godaddy and it says this in my account. I thouhgt it was open to the world? Also, when I'm regging them, I use my real addy, but I have to select a EU country instead of the U.S.

    anyone knows whats going on?

GD is still pushing the pre reg list and after this live registration will be available.

From the start of the landrush and pre regs where submitted it will take 24 hours before live regs will be possible.

    crap.
I wonder will they catch me or let me have the domains? You think becaus eof the insane high number of regs I might slip by the radar? I got two or three killer eu's, I'm gonna cry if I lose em =[

Well i had a 100% failure rate, some of them were waiting for over a year.

They are all dictionary names so if I see that some were sunshine names not associated to trademarks I think that I may contest them.
    example names
    bird.eu/reptile.eu/eagle.eu/ (As I've said before I'm a biologist :)

On the plus side I now have 200euros of domain credit, I still have some good ideas, but may have to use a hyphen

Man, what a landrush there is on the .eu domain extension!
    Currently 1,075,672 domains registered. If I'm reading the stats correctly;
    Applications under Sunrise 346,218

FS, nope, must be in the EU to register them, if you have an EU address to use you could I suppose.

Hmmm. Still waiting to find out if I got the ones I was after but it doesn't look very promising. I reg'd a .eu domain that there would be no competition for and it's a done deal. All the rest are still to show up in my account(s). Oh well.

But you bought them under a fake address, so it is possible that they will still revoke them. I'm waiting for public live registration to open. Bummer that I won't be in the country as of tomorrow so I won't be near a computer to register domains

That seemed a little odd to me.
    It now says:
How could it be possible or (even just) for one person to get such premium names. The listing said:

The seller only had 7 feedback and hadn't sold a thing previously.
    Odd.

Man, what a joke the .eu landrush turned out ot be. GoDaddy were singularly useless. There are domains in my account listed as pending and they're already for sale on Sedo. All the pre-registered domains I had with another company came to nothing as well.

It seems someone was ahead of the game and if the speculation on Namepros is correct, set up several hundred 'registrars' in order to batter the .eu registration servers so they could hit them 400 x a minute more than anyone else.

In the meantime, lots of my dosh is tied up (thing I'm most ticked off about).

yeah, what gets me is that I was going to develop the names I was interested in. I just know that they will all end up parked at sedo or similar. They should of set it up so that the max you could register was 5 to 10 domains, and you had to prove your ID, perhaps give your NIH number or similar.
The godaddy applications sound awful, they are a major player in domain names. Again it should of been set up so that the registrers were able to have a percentage each of the domains, dependent upon how many people they had applying.

To be honest I'd go for Spanish and German anyday! Much more widely spoken,
