    Seems like good news.
    For example, one could register domain avantgardé.eu

    What's your opinions on it? Any good uses for it? Would it be good only for localized websites?

    Excellent news, and yes it almost goes without saying that these will be good for localized websites.

    However these may be even better for localized websites, because in many countries they simply do not use the english alphabet, and only having those letters available for domain names really didn't make sense.
