Would you buy a .eu domain? I know there only new,but there already full of spam sites, but theres still 4 letter domains left in it,and there only 5euro a year.
Agreed! I don't think they're many spammy .eu websites (yet). Certainly not compared to .com or .net websites. Which registrar offers .eu domains for only € 5? Do they come with private registration or isn't that possible with .eu domains?
.eu domains will be extremely hot properties couple of years from now as people in the European Union, who missed out on the bus when trying for their country domains, will all be running towards the.eu domains and the aftermarket prices are gonna shoot up like anything!
Personally, I wouldn't buy .eu domains for resale. If you are looking to develop & target people in the EU, then it might be a good idea to own it.
I think .eu is too general, many people still only register there countries extension and leave .eu away.
I don't like .eu and won't buy any. I don't think Germans will leave their .de or French their .fr Plus it's better for search engines to have your local business site with a local ccTLD. The only thing I would buy .eu would be for brand protection but I would 301 to the main site.
probably not, unless there are small common word .eu's available. I dont really plan to buy any more TLD's unless it's for a really clever domain hack.
.eu will became very valuable in the coming years. Think about many countries joined the EU and will be more to come. Yes, I would go for .eu and actually I am in search for few good names. Godaddy I thing has .eu is for $15 reg.
Yes. I think .eu will become more important in the future. powerhoster.com just sell it $12.99 per year.
.eu domains are good and they are picking up quite fast. We have seen the registrations going up from just 3 - 4 per week in last September to 12 - 18 per week in January. There will be some value, but the name should be good one. Many good names were blocked in the start of extension. Our company (A directi Reseller) is selling them much lower at USD 7.69 only.
.eu is different from other gTLDs so not much analysis is available. http://blog.whoisireland.com/ has some in-depth analysis. You need to be careful with renewals as you can only do 1 year at a time and you have to pay an extra year to move them between registrars. Also a lot of registrars do not have mechanisms in place to accept transfers (even ones where you can register them at). This can be a pain if you want to consolidate names)
