does .eu.com domains have value? (it looks pretty much like eu.com having sub domains)

You could also go for com.mx as well. I feel com.mx is a good option too.

Only for the person who owns the domain eu.com & is selling subdomains to suckers. Other than that, worthless.

Why not. All depends on the prefix you use. But if your content will be interested and useful for your visitors you will get your web site bookmarked and won't need anything more.

What do you mean it's not a subdomain??? The person who owns eu.com is selling subdomains, eg. money.eu.com is a subdomain

Yes it is. eu.com is owned by CentralNic - they sell subdomains on eu.com (and us.com, uk.com and others). They market them as fully fledged domains, and it's easy to understand why there could be confusion, but the fact remains that if you register a domain it's only yours by contract with CentralNic and not owned in the same way as a .COM or .EU domain is.

In answer to your original question, yes there may be some value for really amazing domains - I would estimate something like casino.eu.com to be worth more than the reg fee. However they'll only be worth a small fraction of the equivalent .COM or .EU.

Best not to buy subdomains. web.com was selling xxxxx.web.com subdomains for years but these will all be canceled in January 2008 when they move to a different business model. Anyone with an xxxxx.web.com name has been notified that will lose their domain.
