To all the directory owners out there, I have submitting my sites to almost every directory on the solicitations forum, but I feel like i should give something back, Is it okay to setup a page on one of my sites with the only purpose of backlinking to directory sites which have been kind enought to accept my sites? Thanks for the advice
Of course you can. Directory owners will not manually check which pages are linking to their directory, instead it's verified by spiders. Spiders will only check whether there is a link existed, and it doesn't care what's the content for that page. Sorry, this is my personal point.
