Ethical Marketing Question on Advertisements sold

I have an ethical question to pose to you DP. My website was doing pretty well, enough to garner the sale of a monthly $50 dollar ad banner at the top of my site for 2 months. My question is what if you make that ad sale based off of traffic stats that are alright. The past 2 weeks I have had my traffic quadruple, which would make the sale of a top ad banner on my site a different # then $50. I understand it's a good buy/risk for the buyer, however as the seller of this ad, should I adjust the rate for the 2nd month? Even if the pretenses of the deal were made before I got a huge wave of traffic?

As a person I say no, a deal is a deal. But I am new to being a webmaster somewhat and realize people pay for high traffic ads on sites like this. I don't want to be the dumb one. Thanks for reading.

dont raise your price since you allready closed your deal. however you can send your advertiser a message as soon as the 2 months are done to offer him a new deal.

Ethics are a collection of principles of right conduct that shape the decisions people or organizations make. Practicing ethics in marketing means deliberately applying standards of fairness, or moral rights and wrongs, to marketing decision making, behavior, and practice in the organization.
