I'm not one yet, but all I have to offer right now is to just persevere. You're not gonna get it if you are just putting up meaningless posts or waiting around for the right thread to come around.

Keep at it, and soon enough, you'll recognize something you didn't even think you earned.

It is possible to become an established member rather quickly because you are contributing good content and helping others with your ideas and thoughts. It can prove invaluable and really make a difference for someone.

I had to come back to this thread because the discussion has been focused on helping others to get likes. As a 20+ year sales/marketing professional in high tech, it was not hard for me to get likes in the appropriate sections and, of course, I wanted at least three likes so that I could run some contests for myself and my clients. What has not been mentioned about this process is how much else I have gained from the discussions that I have participated in while helping others. New thoughts, ideas, angles, concepts and more have all come up in the course of these discussions and they are a great way to stay current with trends.

My point is that you should jump in to these forums not only to get likes, but because there is great value just from participating. I have my three likes and could basically stop posting and just run my contests, but I continue to find value from other members around the world, despite my years of experience, and plan to participate on an ongoing basis.

Well, I was posting in another section this morning and realized that I had just hit 999 posts. I immediately thought that it would be most appropriate to make my 1,000th post here as an update to this old thread regarding the difficulty of getting likes. The numbers tell me that I am getting one like for every seven posts I make, on average. I am probably just your average-type bear (tip of the hat to Yogi), so if I can do it, so can you.

More important, however, than the number of posts and/or likes I have showing in my stats, I have been enjoying my return to DP. I have learned some, I have helped some, I have laughed some, I have gotten annoyed some, and I have had my creative juices turned on time and again. I also have made some new friends and acquaintances that I would not have had before.

Bottomline, keep plugging away new members...it's worth it.

Now you have it etched in stone:

From my experience if you care enough to give sound, intelligent replies people do and will appreciate it. And that's why you get 1 like for every 7 posts.

Getting 'likes' is not that hard. Some folks unnecessarily make a fuss over it. It's a way to keep the forum free from spammers and in most cases also an indicator of how contributive and helpful you have been so far to other members. Here's something that may help – https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/i-really-want-to-join-marketplace.2725157/#post-19006235.
    Good luck.:)

If you are only into getting likes then it'll be surely difficult but if you are here to be exchange knowledge and ideas with the community then that wouldn't be hard. :)
