I got 2 sales through the hosting affiliate in the past without doing any adevertisement. The income shown on the listing is just a very realistic income potential that could be made from 678Host.com with some advertisement.

I used to have hostgator as the main affiliate and I had 2 signups with them, but they claimed one was fruad and never paid for anything, so I decided to switch to hostmonster which is very reliable in paying their affiliates. But you can always switch back to using hostgaor if you like.

What control panel do you use? how do you administer the accounts? is it the server at softlayer?

I use a custom control panel. I had to buy the license to use this control panel. The buyer will get the license transfered to him/her. This license is a life time license and no further fees are required as long as you run the hosting company only on this domain. This license comes with life time updates on your server.

 

I made only 2 affiliate sales. The website was without a hosting affiliate for almost 2 months. at this time I mved from using hostgator to hostmonster and didn't have any of my affiliate links on the website. I never really had the or the expertise to the proper marketing for this website. But, there are so many ways you can make money from this website. You can add a banner ad on the top and the bottom of every user page. So if you can do some marketing and get more users you can easily sell these banners to advertisers or use google adsense on thousands of pages.

 

I administer the domains myself. It does not really take any time, I have gotten only like 4 support tickets from the users. many of the users are not really active.
Also, I have created a forum so members can help each other in resolving any problems they may have and save you time in answering questions.

I do not know exactly how many customers are there. There are about 780 accounts. Some users have more than one account and some just have an account but didn't upload a website. I keep deleting accounts every now and then when I find out they have nudity in the content of their website, or if they are using phishing websites, or if they are using proxy or any other illegal material.
Also, I have some countries blocked from accessing the website because statistics show that The mojority of users from these countries do a lot of spam or they abuse the free hosting service.
See....I keep my hosting service clean unlike most of the other free hosting companies out there that open their service to everyone and to any content. I could get so much more signups if i didn't care about the content that users have on the websites hosted by 678Host.com

The sites hosted are hosted as subdomains. i.e: username.678host.com
If you want to see some active accounts go to yahoo.com and type
678host.com in the search... you will see some of the user accounts that are hosted with 678host.com and indexed. Some users have hundreds of pages indexed on search engines.

By the way the Alexa rank of 678host is now 232,598 which tells you there are good traffic on the website.
