Established Directory For Sale

I bought this directory about a month ago here on dp. All the details can be found in the original sales thread:

I haven't had the time to develop the directory so I'm putting it up for sale so that it gets the attention it needs. Basically, not much has changed since the original sales thread.

Payment is via escrow, with escrow fees shared equally between buyer and seller.

Revenue is still the same as in the original sales thread. Since then, I've sold one additional featured listing.

 

Not sure why there's not more interest in this. If you were to build a quality directory from scratch it would cost you more than the sale price. Plus, the directory is well indexed in Google, which isn't alway easy for a directory that's starting out.

In any event, I'm changing the closing date to (exactly) 48 hours after the first bid is placed.

 

I will bid $500, is that ok?

 

I am not sure if thats ok with Jeff but it is defenately worth it, considering the design and age of the domain. Its almost a year old which is rare for a phpld directory.

In answer to your questions, I can't accept $500. $600 is the opening bid. For $600 you get:

* a custom template that would cost $350
* I'll add in featured submissions to other directories worth $250
* a website that's 10 months old
* the directory is well indexed in Google
* you've got a unique database of both sites and categories
* script is worth $25
* custom logo - probably worth about $50
* many submissions to other directories already done

I can accept wire transfer. The only thing is that I wouldn't transfer the site until the wire was received.

Not sure what you want to know about hosting info. Right now it's hosted on my own server. You'd need to get your own hosting account.

Domain is at namecheap - free push to your account there. If you don't have an account there already, I think you can set one up for free.

I've had the website since July 17. In that time, it has averaged 60 to 100 uniques per day. But, I haven't done any marketing and I don't think the previous owner has done much either.

In short, everything is well set up to begin. You can just convert it into a paid directory and start promoting it a lot and you should be able to make your money back in 3 or 4 months.

 

If you guys are looking for hosting, I can offer 100mb space with 1gb traffic at 4.95 a month. unlimited mysql/domains and everything else. cpanel, fatastico, phpmyadmin and all that good stuff.
