Selling Established 6 y.o. Financial advise / personal accounting site

Here is a gem in the rough, waiting to be turned into a big earner blog / forum / information site in the lucrative financial advise and personal accounting niche.

6 years old, short, easily pronounceable and memorable, hence highly marketable, dot com domain name. Registered afresh, always with one owner, clear domain history. Name by itself is worth the asking price.

Content unique to the site, written by native English speakers with expertise in accounting. All the new owner needs to do is to keep adding new content. There was a forum section on the site which I removed due to high upkeep efforts needed to keep it spam free and generally high quality. The remaining WP blog, which has always been the core of the site, is all unique and high quality content.

Site has good thematic IBLs and has never been promoted using shady techniques. It does need some more IBLs to energize bots and bring new levels of traffic, but you will never have to worry about bad "unnatural" links lurking in its past.

You'll get domain name, WP database, all files - the whole thing. For those webmasters running cPanel/WHM I can simply pack the entire account (including latest logs if you want) and send it to you as one large gzipped archive which you will be able to install in less than 5 minutes. Domain name is with eNom (Namecheap). If you have a Namecheap account, it will be a free push. Actually, I believe I can free push to any eNom reseller. If you are not with eNom, I'll transfer outside - no problem, you'll just have to pay the transfer fees to your own registrar.

If anyone wants to know why I'm selling: this was a side project for a friend of mine (the accountant) who since have moved onto greener pastures, and I'm not knowledgeable enough about the subject matter to continue adding good content. Quite an interesting little site. Any chance you might know what's with the 30,000 indexed pages on Google?
Looks like there's been a forum. domain.com/frugal/1.htm this url used to have discussion threads but it's now redirected to the blog. Do you know why? Or is it something that your friend did?

Also, can you prove the monthly Unique Visitors claim by providing temporary limited access to Analytics?

 

Tankard, thanks for the tip! Google works mysterious ways ! I've no idea why there's 30K - there was never anywhere close to that. Unless there was a problem with URL parameters that created an uncontrollable URL multiplication situation - who knows, maybe you've just uncovered the source of the site's traffic issues. But there was a small forum section some time ago which I deleted because it generated absolutely no people traffic and was pounded on by bots trying to register.

I am sorry I cannot provide GA access, not the least because I never ran GA on this site. I am also sorely lacking in terms of any Web-based statistics because I turned all of them off many years ago to conserve server load. I download and process log files offline using a software called Visitors . There's a limitation there as well - I can only get stats from the beginning of the month to the day when the log file was downloaded. However, if this is something you can work with - I can email you the resulting stats output (a stand-alone HTML file) for Sept. 2013

After having written this many times in the PMs about this listing, I'd like to just put this in the open: to avoid any consternation regarding current traffic (and who knows how the existing traffic will be affected by domain name transfer) just consider this a purchase of a great domain name with clean and continuous registration history, some thematic IBLs and some content which you may or may not use when you're the owner. I will be the first to admit that the site needs some development love - since I can't give it any, I'm looking to sell it.
