I'm torn between two methods of delivering my eshot to customers. The two options I'm considering are: - Providing a very short summary of each "article" and providing a link to a section of my website where the content is displayed attractivley in full. - Traditional text based email newsletter with everything in the email. My initial thoughts are that people won't read a wordy email. However - I am also sceptical that people will click a link for the news. I'm not a big fan of email marketing as it is, but I have to do it. Anyone offer any advice as to which method, if any, maybe best ?
My preferred method would be a short extract from each article with a small image. If the article is of interest then people will click through. If not then they won't.
Hi William, It depends on how much text is in your emails? I actually prefer the short version with a link to the site. Here's my reasons. 1. I read my emails though eprompter and sometimes long emails get jumbled...so I just delete them. 2. Some email programs make your emails look all wierd, especially if your lines are too long it can make everything out of wack. 3. You can customise a html page to include adsense around your article that you've asked your subscribers to click too. 4. Your building repeat traffic...I tend to look around a website after I've read an article. (Compared to reading an email..I just delete it) 5. Your training your subscribers to actually go to your website. 6. The shorter the email, the less spam words that can get caught up in their email filters. (Meaning more emails actually read) I Hope this helps? Regards, Michael Silvester
