Hi there, On one of my websites I have set up some 301 redirects using a .htaccess file. This is because I had some page names that I wanted to rename and I didn't want to waste the Page Rank on the old page names. However when in my Google Webmaster account it says I have warnings for my sitemap - this is the status: Any idea on how to fix this? And is it important? Thanks for any help
I would remove them from your sitemap. Google will count these pages in your favour without sitemaps.
Thanks for the help. How would I remove them from the sitemap? When I create my sitemap I just used the http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ website.... Thanks again for anymore help
I've tried making a sitemap from xml-sitemaps.com and I was still having the problem in google webmasters. How do I know if they include redirected pages in the sitemap? And how do I prevent it? Thanks for any more help
A couple questions - 1.) did you replace the old URLs in your sitemap.xml file with the new ones? 2.) Is your server sending an old copy of the sitemap.xml file to the search engines by any chance? (I know, it sounds corny but I have seen it before.)
I didn't change any url in my sitemap and the url for I m getting this error is working just fine, there is no redirect at all.
