We have received an error message while upgrading from 4.0.2 to 4.1.7 Beta 1. "An error has occured with your database. Please contact vBulletin Support for assistance. Module: 408, Step 15 Database Error:1053... Server shutdown in progress. Query: DELETE searchcore_text.... FROM searchcore_text... LEFT JOIN searchcore ON (searchcore.searchcoreid = searchcore_text.searchcoreid)....WHERE searchcore.searchcoreid IS NULL a screenshot of the error we are getting: http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/7838/upgrade2.jpg any suggestions and how to proceed with the installation?
we tried, but vbulletin staff not that helpful "Please note that Unstable (Alpha, Beta or Release Candidate) versions are considered unstable and are not eligible for official support. You install these versions at your own risk."
I found another similar problem where the culprit was a broken table. Maybe you could try "repairing" the tables in your database from the vB adminCP then trying the upgrade again.
Well a "server shutdown in progress" is exactly that... MySQL is in the process of shutting down for some reason. Did you retry? Maybe you caught it in the middle of a mysqld restart or something.
problem fixed. decided to upgrade to 4.1.6, the stable version. uploaded & ran upgrade script. no probs. thanks to everyone who replied
