Error related to Apache Crash

    One of our apache servers has been constantly crashing in the past 24 hours. Nothing seems to indicate a problem except there are thousands of entries like these in the apache error log:

    [Fri Jan 12 10:01:53 2007] [error] [client ::1] Directory index forbidden by Options directive: /var/www/html/

    And some unexplained entries in the apache-status listing:

    61-0 - 0/0/25 . 0.26 24 0 0.0 0.00 0.03 ::1 server.ourserver.com GET / HTTP/1.0

    No IP address in either case.

    Has anyone seen this or better yet know how to block it?

    Thanks but it didn't help. the thing I found most confusing about the log entry was the lack of an IP address.
