error in xampp

    i have installed xampp in my pc. when i start the localhost, it is automatically stopped after 2 or 3 seconds. i cant understand the problem. please provide some suggestion...

    Do you have any more details? does it crash or does it just not bind to the port?

    If you can't be bothered to fix it, WAMP is quite nice. (I prefer their control panel)

    Open httpd.conf
    Find:
    Listen 80

    change it to:
    Listen 85

    save, restart
    http://localhost:85/

    Make sure you installed the correct version for your operating system.
