I am experiencing a weird problem with phpLD 3.4 Whenever I try to add / submit links to the directory, it generated this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_substr() in /home/foi/public_html/include/functions.php on line 4325
    Code (markup):
I really don't know whats wrong  Usually I would post in phpLD Forums for help but for some strange reason I lost access to the support section there.

ask your hosting company if they support mb_string()

Did you move hosting or change php.ini?

in your includes/functions.php file find and change:

    mb_substr

    to

    substr

If you still get a 500 error then in the htaccess change:

    #RewriteBase /

    to

    RewriteBase /

(Removing just the # from in front of everything)

I've exactly the same problem. I couldn't find mb_substr and it's all substr in the functions.php file. I changed this "#RewriteBase /" to this "RewriteBase /" in the .htaccess file but still not working. Can you please help fix the issue.

    Thanks a lot.
