Hi guys Got a CDR file from one of our costumers and we can't get open it, nor import it to a new file. It stars to open and then at 30% just shuts down our software. The costumer file is a CorelX3. So i don't get the problem here. Any ideas?
I haven't had Corel for quite some time now, but it sounds like you've got a corrupt file, not a compatibility issue. If your app couldn't open the file it wouldn't start or try to - so we know it thinks it's a good file. Try to get the customer to re-save and then re-send the source file, or save it in another format as a lowest-common-denominator just in case. Best of luck!
Cheers mate, we did that first place and none works. Saved them in another format (C11) different name etc. Any other ideas?
I'm guessing this is a layered file you've got? I know corel and adobe had some interchange code going from corel to photoshop - is that sort of thing applicable in this case at all? If it's not the file (which 95% of the time it is) it might be a settings thing in your Corel somewhere. Do you have the chance to try opening it in corel on another computer? does the same file that doesn't work for you still open properly for the sender?
The file works ok at costumer machine, but this is second time we have issues with their corel files. At our machine it doesn't open and crashes software. Yet, all other cdr files open just fine. All Of Them. Anyone with X3 that wants to try to open this right now? Thanks!
Eh Client just did something (really don't know what) but the new files do open now. Cheers guys, if i find out what happened i post here. Rep added ^^
