Error: 406 No acceptable objects were found

I built a web site a couple of months ago, and used the meta tag analyzer at submitexpress.com to check my title, description and keywords tags. Upon building the site, the pages were crawled by submitexpress.com's crawlers just fine, but recently, I get "Error: 406 No Acceptabel Objects Were Found on all pages. This also has resulted in Google not being able to index the site...

So, I copied the home page (index.htm) and renamed it index2.htm to see if it is crawled by submitexpress.com's spiders. This new, copied page is crawled without incident. I have compared the html in "view / source" of both index.htm, and index2.htm, and they appear to be identical in code...maybe I'm overlooking something.

Reading about this error on Microsoft's web site is confusing to me. I am hoping that some of you may be able to see something I am missing, and recommend a fix. Can you please check the following two pages?

    http://www.pakdesigns.com/index.htm and http://www.pakdesigns.com/index2.htm

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you for trying...I just deleted the style resource reference, and manually set the page's background properties...still Error: 406. Any other suggestions?

Nope, that's not it either...thank you though. This is a reference to the program I used to create the javascript navigation(s).

I find this problem very odd for a few reasons...

    1. The pages were crawled just fine upon my initial build; all pages have since become unable to be properly crawled.

    2. The new page I created from a copy of the home page is able to be crawled, but the original home page is not. I have even saved the copied page as "index.htm" and replaced the home page with it.

    3. When named "index2.htm" it was crawled just fine. When I overwrote "index.htm" with "index2.htm" it becomes unable to be properly crawled.

    4. If it were a server issue, then my new, copied page, "index2.htm" wouldn't be able to be properly crawled, right?

I am at my wits end with this. This has NEVER happened to me before...

    Any other ideas?

All I can offer you is a cool glass of lemonade and tell you to let it rest for a few hours. Also, I would contact the server people! Maybe the particular crawler is not having issues with the page, but the other is. What I mean is, crawler X can crawl any old page, but crawler Y can't crawl but one of them. There is something corrupt, but I don't know what it is. Okay, I am not help. But I FEEL your pain.

Thank you. Just as a test, I have copied "index.htm", and named it "index.html". The new page, "index.html" is able to be crawled. Do you think it may be that I need to change my page extensions to .html from .htm?

Thanks for your help. I believe I have found a resolution. I am going to change all my page name extensions to .html, rather than using .htm. Upon changing the names of a selection of my pages to .html from .htm, they become immediately crawlable.
