    Hi
Does anyone think it's worth buying Eric Giguere's adsense book 'Make Easy Money with Google : Using the AdSense Advertising Program' ? Has anyone read it?

You can find all the info you need for free on this forum. But if you are in a hurry and want to cover the basics you can pay the money to read it.

adsense really is easy money. Oh I know. You all work your a$$ off on your adsense websites. So do I ...

But I worked my you know what off on my websites before I ever heard of adsense.

Now for the last year and a half everything I made (adsense) from those websites is just gravy.

Because all I had to do was run a find and replace op on 17,000 pages to ad in the google code and bingo, the money roooooooools in like magic.

Damn best definition of easy money I ever seen.

Thank you thank you thank you google.

Now excuse me while I go work like a dog to try and duplicate this over and over....

I used to give that kind of information out but then I read a few post about google accounts getting banned from click fraud etc so I have to respectfully decline your request for that info.

My main site is a business directory that list most every business for a certain industry. I have lots of smaller sites now also.

From reviews at Amazon, it seems to be a good book intended for non-technical beginners who want to start their first website, but not for experienced webmasters. It's not a "secret tricks" book, apart from creating good website content.

Just remember if you do a business directory the g will not like you and neither will any other SE that does local info such as MSN etc. Although they [msn] have not did me like google did [delisted 99% of my site].

Other then that go for it.

My site is not data base driven it has 17000 real .html pages. I had a programmer write me up a script to build the pages from a text file data base and spit out the pages pre formatted from header and foot files etc.

Remember to make sure your site map has links to every listing. My script built my site map for every directory automatically. Everything is segmented by state. This means every state directory has a master index with every business for that state listed alphabetically. These master list are linked to via a main site map listed on the top of every page on the site.

The spiders eat this site up. 5000 plus hits from the little arachnids every single day. This is massively cool for my and my friends other ventures as I can zap up a link to another of my sites on each listing page via a banner manager that will put text links on all 17k of the listing pages instantly.

I used to use the banner manager to advertise other stuff but found that taking the lower banners off kicked my adsense clicks from well under 10% to well over 10%. cool, I worded that in such a way as to avoid the TOS violation. Ha.

Today I put up a new demo website targeted to this business niche for my web hosting business and kicked up a text link to the site with the banner manager.

Couldn't believe it. checked my logs and 15 seconds after the text link went live I had the inktomi spider on the new demo site crawling away. Came right in from a directory listing page via the text link.

Life is good when you are over run with spiders and can direct the little buggers to where you want them anytime.

What the heck is a google sandbox?? All my new sites get indexed in hrs and SE hits in days. This has changed with google indexing but all the rest still love me. Msn has been so good to me lately that I'm going to put Bill on the Christmas card list. Yahoo is close behind.

If you do a biz directory keep it simple. Don't put a load of stuff for people to click out on from each page. Maybe do one or two links and then an adsense banner. One link to home/front page the other link to master site map.

My listing pages have the large 728x 90 leader board and 2 small links out to the rest of the site right above the leader board ad. This way people who want to click out have to have a good look at the adsense banner.

The thing I need to do is ad the new google horizontal link menu right under the leader board banner. It looks like a menu not an ad and gets lots of clicks as like I said people think its a menu. This is working great on some of my smaller sites of 30 to 60 pages.

Everyone take note of this. You would never think of having these right together but it works out great. :D

    Now go get em!

Kind of late on this discussion, I see, but I'd like to confirm to everyone here that Make Easy Money with Google is really a book for non-technical people, not experienced webmasters. I know some people have issue with the title, but it's better than the first ones the publisher chose, believe me!

Anyhow, for more information you can see the book's site at MakeEasyMoneyWithGoogle.com, which features my AdSense blog.

Why not make a copy available to someone for an independent review?

The publisher and I have sent out many copies for review, including of course the previously mentioned post up on SEO Scoop. That said, there is still room for more reviews. Send me a note if you'd like to do one, but I can't send out a free copy to everyone who asks. Really, I'd be interested in getting another review or two from newbies, not from the experienced warhorses.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for reviews, just head over to Amazon.com and look at the 20 or so reviews up there. Pretty balanced at this stage -- it should be clear when you read them that this is a book for beginners, not a "secrets" kind of book.

Oh, I forgot: there is another avenue for getting a free copy of the book... every month I send a book to a random subscriber to my mailing list. See http://www.MakeEasyMoneyWithGoogle.com/free-book.html for the details.

I'm afraid I fall into the 'warhorse' category. I did read the review on seo-scoop but when there's an affiliate link in the middle (nothing wrong with that), it does tend to make one a bit more sceptical, plus it was a little vague. The bright purple site doesn't help. I couldn't wait to leave.

The amazon reviews sound promising, however. :)

Yes, please check out the Amazon reviews. There are also links to other reviews on the official MEMWG site. This is a physical (printed) and inexpensive book from a well-known publisher (PeachPit), not an e-book, so it's probably different in that sense from the other AdSense books you're thinking of. Not that there's anything wrong with e-books, but the latter tend to have a more aggressive distribution model (everyone seems to be using affiliate programs via ClickBank, which is why the prices are higher -- they need to offer a high return to the affiliates) that does turn some people off.

Now, I have had experienced people read my book and learn something from it, but by "experienced" I mean experienced with website creation, not specifically with AdSense. Regular readers of this forum probably won't learn anything from the book, but it makes a good gift for your relatives :)

I wrote the book specifically for people like my own father, who is an avid computer user but not a techie. When he started attending seminars on how to make money on the Internet, I knew there was a need for a conventional book on that very subject! It was actually quite fun to write, and they people at who it is targeted have had very positive things to say about it.

I do put up some interesting articles and comments on my blog, though, so even the experienced folks here should check it out.
